The Wai-Hau Solar Project was supported by the Island Knowledge Institute (IKI) through the CO2 program to assist the Wai-Hau Conservation Foundation in upgrading its aging solar power system. This initiative delivers reliable and clean energy to the community, strengthening both conservation efforts and everyday activities.

Access to improved solar energy supports lighting, communication, and essential community functions, while reducing environmental impact. The project demonstrates the importance of renewable energy solutions in remote island settings, where sustainable infrastructure is key to resilience.

Through this support, the Wai-Hau community continues to show a strong commitment to environmental stewardship and the protection of natural resources, while building a more sustainable and self-reliant future.
